Well said! This line of thought reminds me of studying Walter Benjamin in grad school, his ideas about what constitutes art in the age of mechanical reproduction. He was thinking about what is “real” and what is a “copy” and does it matter…and that was in the 1930s and 40s, before all the ways we know today to distance ourselves from the original, actual thing. Or person. Or self.
